Swallowtail

Sweet little Swallowtail in repose

drinking your divine nectar
Knowing only your code

Birthing – eating – mating – dying
simple is the life you have
Sweet little Swallowtail in repose

Pretty yellow Butterfly
in your short time on Earth
You spread joy – you spread life

Flitting from flower to flower
rejuvenating this withering Planet
Pretty yellow Butterfly

The cataclysm of man
unknown to your kind
Nectar of innocence only for you

May nectar-full flowers fulfill
all the days of your life – away from

The cataclysm of man

  1. Thank you Sadje! Oh yes and the butterflies, bees, frogs and toads become fewer every year. 🦋

  2. Love this sweet poem Ami. If it weren’t for the butterflies and bees, we would be dead from starvation
