The Untended Garden

Left unattended,
a once vibrant garden
withers and dies.

The loving touch
of a gardener creates
blossoms of beauty.

Water, nutrients
attention and care
bring the Earth to light.

Left alone to burn
in the sand or drown
in torrential rains –

The lush budding vines
the emergence of perennials
are hushed by a cretinous fist.

Nature’s Glory stilled
unwittingly or willingly
by the appetite of man –

Will survive.

    1. Most definitely Sadje – unless it’s a natural garden, then we must leave it alone. Forests, swamps, mountain regions, rain forests, and all the rest.
