Age does not negate beauty
though the colors have changed
faded some – brighter too
Look deeper and you can see

The hues may be different
transposed to a vibrant imbue
or a sultry subtle tone
A rainbow of life’s adventures

Perhaps youthful no longer
they are so very much stronger
this palette honed to perfection
For one so disposed to predestination

When next you pass an elder by
not sparing a glance or a little hello
stop for a moment and remember
There too someday you will go
