When a second is a lifetime
and a minute becomes eternity
When hurt becomes an ache
and turns into unbearable pain

When dusk becomes an endless night
a void with no end in sight
When the gentle rays of the sun
become a blistering heat-filled menace

When time has no meaning
until time ceases to pass
When truth becomes a lie
and the lie a solemn truth

When falsehoods and greed come first
before honesty and human compassion
When love for one is more
than the love received in turn

When buildings and structures devour
the natural treasure of Mother Earth
When man no longer cares
what happens to his kindred and kind

When all becomes lost
and man’s time has gone away
Is when Mother Earth herself,
will shed tears and wonder why
