In response to Eyeing the Quadrille #147 (44 words only)

Posted by Björn Rudberg (brudberg)

Laying alone in my recliner
hard to move now
My eyes see everything
yet my eyes see nothing at all

Vivid memories bombard my mind
while I can’t remember what day it is
Still my eyes watch the memories
that play behind closed eyelids

  3. I wonder so… maybe when we have seen enough it’s simply full, so you cannot take in any more.

    1. Perhaps, although the human brain has the capacity to “eventually” learn and retain so much more …. If ever we can as a species, let go of ego and concentrate on the betterment of our kind – instead of the destruction of self.

  4. Your Quadrille brings back memories of my Mother who passed away from Alzheimer’s and Lewy Body Dementia … the blank look in her eyes. Still as beautiful as ever.

    1. I believe they retain memories or partial images even if they do not recognize what they are seeing. I hope they are warm memories and not too painful. 🙏

  6. Isn’t that true of dreaming? Seeing it all behind closed lids? Or is it in your mind?
