Before I die
and leave this life behind
There’s just a few little things
I’d like to do if you don’t mind
Even if you do mind that is
This is my poem
My own words, thoughts and wishes
So that I can show all of them
The things that I must do
the rights that I must wrong
the tasks to be accomplished
Before I can sing Him my song
I want to be kind
to someone unkind
To touch him with love
Heal his eyes if he’s blind
I’d like to leave my mark
Travel farthest from this spot
Help the needy and forgotten
Fight for those who haven’t fought
For human and animal rights
against the progress of man
and those who do damage
to people and land
Without a care for the future
no compassion nor giving
to the plight of all things
Before I die, to start living
All worthy goals Ami. A very moving poem. Thanks for joining in
