Dawn burns bright so hot
Hot to little puppy feet
Feet rise and fall so quickly
Quickly they jump into the pool
Pool is chilly and feels wonderful
Wonderful cool water soothes hot feet
Feet splash and paddle away the hurt
Hurt subsides in joyful playfulness
Playfulness makes a puppy happy
Happy puppy barks in exuberance
Exuberance for life and owner
Owner smiles with love at dawn

hot weather and furbabies often don’t mix. a nice cool pool sounds really nice right now, and I’m sure the puppies think so. Fun poem, Gypsie.

Thank you Ms Jadeli! I’m trying to find a pet pool for my big girl but so far they are either too flimsy or have plastic linings, which her nails would shred.
