The Walkway

WWDYS #144-A Picture Prompt
Hosted by Sadje

There is a walkway in my mind,
I travel through it
from time to time.

My breathing slows,
I cross my legs
and travel far below.

Along the tree lined
path I find several old
friends of mine.

Waiting patiently near
the bank my beautiful
timber-wolf appears.

Flying strongly overhead
her wings outstretched
the hawk in sky does tread.

Into the trees I now spy
a massive buck
his rack so high.

Then through the water
crystal clear a sweet
blue dolphin brings up the rear.

All are guides my friends
it’s true they come to me
my heart does mend.
