The mirror lies to me daily
each time I gaze into its glass
I see what should be me
but is not
Others see an aged woman
looking back at them
Body abused by the passage
of time
Thinking do they
as I did too at that age
I will never get like that
no not me
It happens quite quickly
this mirror image change
Perhaps not or I forgot to look
as years passed
Now I look in the mirror
and see someone else
that can’t be me
but it is – me
Appearances don’t matter, it’s the heart and soul that counts

I do wish that were true. But in nature, the brightest, prettiest plumage catches the eye of the beholder quicker than the one with mange. Even if the one with mange has the purest, most loving heart. ❤️

I do somewhat. Although I’m 64 and she passed away at 57. I see my Dad too! He only left this Earth three years ago. ❤️

Don’t spend too much time looking at someone who isn’t you really. On the inside you know you’re still that twenty something young lady.
