My Recliner

My recliner cradles me
when I am tired
when I am sick
and when my mind is weary

My recliner comforts me
when pain is overwhelming
when heartache is all encompassing
and disease wracks my body

My recliner consoles me
when my soul is torn
when my convictions waiver
and my choices unclear

My recliner soothes me
gently rocking back and forth
gently creaking and moaning
like long time lovers

Yes, sometimes we develop feelings for inanimate things …. especially if it’s been with us for a long time! I used to find comfort in an old yellow shirt.

Thank you so much Sadje! Nothing like a good rocker/recliner to hold you in its arms!! 🫢
