Bougainvillea you are a genus
unlike so many others more common
you are quite a unique vine
Soft pink petals adorn
your bright green leaves
and oh so luscious in deep purple
Yellowest yellows to redder reds
they search for your perfect hue
from as faraway as exotic Peru
Enticing the courageous to reach within wherein they find many thorns once on me now very attached to them

Gorgeous flowering plant. I had a white one at my old house, but haven’t been able to get one to grow at my new place (I think it has to do with the extreme temperatures), but I will persist in trying to get one to thrive 🙂
