The Specter

By Ami (Gypsie) Offenbacher-Ferris
Within the temples
crumbling walls
a scuffling did sound
A muffled boom
four stories down
Flung the ghosts door
open wide
freeing the specter
to spring forth
weaving his way to the sky
He fluttered up and took a step
onto a cloud so high
From within his large
and gaping mouth
was heard an unearthly sigh
I like that “from within in his large and gaping mouth…” I can picture the sound more than any sort of figure…
